Privacy policy

This covers what Beacon Career Services collects when you use this website, email us, or message us on WhatsApp; what we do with it; and how to have it deleted.
Who we are
Beacon Career Services is a staffing agency that places people in the skilled trades, on plant floors, in yards and behind the wheel, in the United States. “We” and “us” in this policy mean Beacon. Anything about your information goes to melo@beaconcareerservices.com.
What we collect
- From the form on this site: your name and email, and whatever you tell us about the job or the work you want: company, roles, trade or ticket, location and availability, your message, and whether you’d like to talk about an adjustment. The form doesn’t store anything on our web server. It opens a filled-in email in your own mail app, and nothing reaches us until you send it.
- From WhatsApp: your phone number, your WhatsApp profile name, the messages you send us, any photos or files you share (a résumé, a license, a ticket), and your answers to our automated questions about trade, location, shifts and when you can start.
- From email: whatever you choose to send.
- If you work through us: what the law requires to hire and pay you, including your Form I-9 documents, a W-4, bank details for direct deposit, and records of hours and pay. For jobs that need it, and only after you’ve given written permission, a background check or a driving record (MVR). We confirm licenses and certifications with whoever issued them.
- From visiting this site: our web host, Cloudflare, handles technical data such as your IP address, your browser and the page you asked for, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Any visitor numbers we look at are totals. We don’t use cookies, advertising trackers or social media pixels.
How we use it
- To answer you, and to match workers with jobs.
- To tell you about openings that fit, by WhatsApp, email or phone.
- To put you forward for a job. You’ll know before we do.
- To hire and pay you if you work through us, and to meet our legal duties as an employer.
- To keep our systems, and our clients’ sites, safe from fraud and misuse.
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Messaging us on WhatsApp
We send and receive WhatsApp messages through the WhatsApp Business Platform, which is run by Meta. Some of our replies come from an automated assistant that asks a few questions about the work you’re after. A recruiter reads the conversation before anyone is put forward for a job. Meta handles your messages to deliver them, under WhatsApp’s own privacy policy.
We only message you on WhatsApp after you’ve written to us first or told us we can. To stop hearing from us, reply STOP, or just tell us, and we will.
Who sees it
- Employers, when you’re being considered for one of their jobs: your name and the parts of your experience, tickets and availability that matter for that job. They get your contact details and documents only once you’re hired or you agree.
- Companies that run services for us, only to do that work: Cloudflare (this website), Zoho (email), Meta (WhatsApp) and, if you work through us, our payroll and background-check providers.
- Government agencies, courts and others when the law requires it, or when someone’s safety is at risk.
- A new owner, if Beacon is ever sold or merged, who would have to keep to this policy.
How long we keep it
Applications, emails and WhatsApp conversations: up to two years after we last hear from you, then deleted. Hiring, payroll and tax records: as long as federal and state law require. Form I-9, for example, has to be kept for three years after hire or one year after the job ends, whichever is later.
See or delete your data
To get a copy of what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, email melo@beaconcareerservices.com with “Delete my data” (or “Copy of my data”) as the subject, or send us that message on WhatsApp from the number you used with us. We’ll confirm it’s done within 30 days.
The only things we keep after a deletion request are records the law makes us hold, such as payroll and I-9 records, and only until we’re allowed to delete them. Deleting your data on our side doesn’t remove messages from your own phone; you can delete the chat in WhatsApp yourself.
Some states give their residents extra rights over their information. We give everyone the same rights, wherever they live, and asking won’t affect your chances of work.
Security
This site is served only over HTTPS. Inside Beacon, only the people who need your information to place you or pay you can see it. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we’ll tell you as the law requires.
Children
Our jobs are for adults. This site and our WhatsApp line aren’t meant for anyone under 16, and if we find we’ve collected information from someone under 16, we delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, the date at the top changes with it. If the change is a big one, we’ll also tell the people we’re in touch with.
